Fatigue and Durability/Damage Tolerance Engineer

Boeing Defense Space & Security has an exciting opportunity for an Experienced, Fatigue and Durability/Damage Tolerance Engineer to join our F/A-18 E/F & G Air Vehicle engineering division located in Saint Louis, MO. This position will be on the Fatigue and Tracking (F&T) team and will support F/A-18 E/F & G Programs. F&T efforts support current production line, Service Line Modification, and in-service structural issues for both US Navy and Foreign Military programs. Team tasks include durability and damage tolerance analysis, Master Events Spectrum generation, fatigue allowables development for design. Position Responsibilities Develops, integrates and documents fatigue, durability and damage tolerance requirements to establish the system design. Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish the product’s environment. Guides product design and verifies fatigue integrity by using analytical methods, LifeWorks, SLAPWORKS and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance. Develops test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied. Supports in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements. Works under general direction This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship . An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required. Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience) Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. 3 years of experience performing fatigue analysis. Experience in a military or commercial aircraft environment. Proficient utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred Qualifications U.S. Secret Clearance Experience with Life Works Experience with Spectrum Generation Fatigue Testing Experience Typical Education & Experience Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master3 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard Relocation This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Basic relocation is available for internal candidates, based on candidate’s eligibility.
