Mortgage Operations Team Lead

Central Bank of the Midwest

Job Description
What You’ll Do:
As the Mortgage Operations Manager, you will be expected to employ outstanding supervisory and leadership skills to assist Loan Originators and support the Mortgage Operations team through training, guidance, accountability, networking, and other support tools.

You’ll ensure quality of mortgage loans by MLOs on behalf of the Bank, to ensure consistent sources of future business.

Manage the administration and coordination of all mortgage loan servicing and/or operational functions.

Establish and administer policies and procedures to ensure compliance with various regulatory, investor, government and corporate requirements.

You will assist with the hiring, training and directing the activities of the loan servicing associates to ensure procedures are properly and efficiently carried out.

Key Accountabilities:
Process Pipeline Management
Monitor underwriting results and updates from our investors, communicate and train staff as necessary to ensure Central Bank of the Midwest generates high quality loans.

Assist Central Bank of the Midwest staff to integrate underwriting guidelines and requirements within our training curriculum
Ensure targeted timeline and production standards are met
Mortgage Tracking and Reporting
Assist in structuring rebuttals to repurchase requests
Perform HMDA disposition of cancelled and declined loans in compliance with Regulation B requirements
Ensure completion of documentation on applications and loan rejections meet applicable consumer credit laws.

Fulfillment Center Liaison
Coordinate and collaborate with Holding Company centralized processing fulfillment center
Maintain current knowledge of underwriting requirement and compliance guidelines
Business Line Leadership Collaboration
Evaluate procedures, recommend changes, and implement new procedures when appropriate
Responsible for the efficient operation of the Real Estate personnel by supervising the daily operational and customer service activities
Ensure compliance to established policies and procedures.

Acts as a resource to staff for operational and customer problems exercising discretion and good judgment.

Creates a teamwork environment to ensure that quality service is provided.

Sets an example for the staff in the area of customer service.

Conducts relationships and activities consistent with established Bank policies, procedures and systems, the corporate code of conduct, Bank Secrecy Act and all applicable State and Federal laws and regulations.

Qualifications:
A minimum of ten years recent Mortgage experience with five years being in a management role
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Thorough working knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the Mortgage Industry as it pertains to Operations and Compliance
Ability to work under pressure of multiple projects and deadlines; ability to effectively prioritize workload
Ability to interpret and apply required policies and procedures with minimal supervision
Well organized, detail-oriented, efficient, self-starter, who can complete assignments with minimal supervision
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and have strong customer service skills
