Director of Economic Development

International Institute of St. Louis

This is a Full-time position in St. Louis, MO posted May 3, 2021.

Director of Economic Developmentensures quality service delivery, accurate, on time portfolio performance reporting, provides leadership to Economic Development department staff, contributing to the growth of loan and IDA portfolios, reports department activities to IICDC Board of Directors, develops products and refines services to meet goals as stated in IICDC Business Plan.

Primary Responsibilities
Provide loan underwriting, share underwriting expertise with business specialists, reviewing loans as needed Serve as main point of contact for funders and lenders for reporting and billing Manage targets dashboard, updating and analyzing data monthly Develop, write and submit grant proposals Create and monitor grant budgets, ensuring all grant reporting deadlines are met Lead department staff in completing and submitting financial, outcome and narrative reports Perform lending and portfolio reporting to funders and other stakeholders as needed Perform periodic portfolio analysis and recommend risk management interventions Complete contract renewals for lines of credit annually Complete requisite annual certifications for CDBG, CDFI, State of Missouri and others Establish and foster effective relationships with community partners With President of IICDC, support facilitation of IICDC Board Meetings and provide relevant reporting to board members as needed With President of IICDC, complete review of IICDC Business Plan and update metrics and performance standards annually Provide supervision, create professional development plans with, and support the work of direct reports Participate as member of agency Programs and Senior Leadership teams Engage in IISTL strategic plan development and execution
MA or equivalent of BA plus 4 years related work experience Strong professional written and oral communication skills Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Prior experience supervising teams and managing to results Ability to deliver engaging public presentations Strong budgeting, problem solving, and time management skills Ability to follow, interpret, communicate and evaluate agency policies Ability to motivate direct, review performance, and provide feedback to a diverse staff Prior experience in grant writing and reporting Experience using DownHome loan management software is preferred
